Baugnez 44 Historical Center, Belgium.

Here's a link to a slideshow of photos I took during a recent (early April 2013) visit to a new museum that has opened in Baugnez, Belgium, close to the site of the infamous Malmedy Massacre of 1944.

In order to preserve the memory of the Battle of the Bulge, the Baugnez 44 Historical Center showcases the final operations and battles which took place during the German counter offensive "Operation Wacht am Rhein".

The museum extends over 850 square meters and two stories. Visitors are presented with a stunning sound and light show as well as a magnificent display of authentic military materiel from the Battle of the Bulge. Several scenes are presented, depicting the daily life of soldiers during the action. Two of these scenes are atmospheric chambers equipped with sound and light equipment that transport you back to the winter battlefield of 1944, to give you a better appreciation of what happened in the Battle of the Bulge.

Well worth a visit!

It seems like a really good museum and thanks for taking the time to share your excellent shots with the TMP crowd.

That looks great! Thanks for posting the link. I visited the Ardennes in 2011 with some friends but we didn't get to that one (perhaps it wasn't open?). The best museum on the Bulge that we saw was actually in Diekirch, Luxembourg: link
