hi i have just put a samurai painting tutorial on my blog to help those who find painting samurai intimidating!
it is the first of several planned samurai painting tutorials.

i have never wrote a tutorial before so i may need to do some technichal improvements later.
anyway it has lots of the tips i use when painting them so hope you find it helpful

Nice tutorial! I'll have to try out the skin tones you mention. I agree with your final words that it is unfortunate that so many people think that painting samurai is too hard, when I think that many popular periods (such as Napoleonics) can be just as tricky. Good tutorials like this will hopefully help!

thanks for all the comments, i have since seen a few mistakes that i will correct and clarify soon. but glad everyone finds it useful.
i hope to show that most painters will be able to a get good effect painting samurai
