Deep Wars is played underwater and miniatures can change depth in the water.
Has anyone come up with an easy way to denote the depth of the miniatures on the tabletop? Even the rulebook seems to skirt around this point.
From a quick read of the rules it looks like about 4 to 8 levels of depth would need to be indicated.
(Great miniatures by the way.)

They are making base stands for this, they showed them on their FB page, they look really nice.

We helped out at some stage of that stand development.

Our Omni-stands can be used as platforms. Just screw a base into either end of the rod. Prep a few select "depths" and swap them out during the game.

I saw a game played at a show many years ago where there were wizards fighting each other and flying about dueling. They used Lego bricks to show how high they were levitated.

A lot of air combat games place a small die next to the miniature to indicate altitude.

Antimatter just made a facebook post with some prototypes, they look a lot like GF9 gaming aids – laser-cut plastic I would guess.

Similarly, GF9 produces some "flight" stands for Heroclix miniatures, which would work, and at least in the past I think there were some flight stands that were essentially just upside-down shot glasses. A marker or die next to the elevated model could indicate the height, if you don't want a bunch of stands that are actually at varying heights.

Successively darkers colors of blue, to black, for bases, or under-base inserts, if your bases are clear.
