Is there any good uniform guide or book about the militares dress worn on this war? The french forces of the 1670s are relativelly well covered, even by osprey, but i'm having a hard time with the Dutch and german states uniforms, specially the austrians (whose uniforms before the 1680s seem to be a mystery )

If you're not familiar with it, you might spend a little time looking at the Rampjaar blog. He has uniform info sporadically and you might be able to pull some things together from past posts.

Thank you for the link! I had forgotten that blog, and it will certanly help me with the dutch forces! However, I couldn't find anything about the austrians. Does anyone have any idea? (would the 1680s uniforms be already in use by them?)

There are several cd's now published by Robert Hall, but they cover mostly the post 1680 period. In the new cd on the dutch army there are some references to the pre 1680 period, but information is scarce.

Thank you! I'll look for this book.
