Afternoon all

I've got some French light infantry from hät to paint up – any suggestions what I can paint them as? I'm focusing on the Peninsular

Thank you

Oh good choice

I can brigade them with my Neopolitan infantry

I do like their uniform, but I believe they had a pretty bad record – particularly high desertion rate, but not surprising by the composition of troops. Might be an interesting quality to class them as. Best, Dean

I like the colorful uniforms worn by the Irish Legion (green)or the Battalion Nufchatel (buff/yellow) myself. Both had better records than the Isembourg.

Any chance you can let us look at them, or give us a link to Hat to see what they look like?

In the Peninsular War:

Short tails: 9th Leger; 17th Leger early to mid;

Long tails: 2nd Leger; 12th Leger; 16th Leger, 27th Leger

All good regiments. True French.

If I went on the basis of 'good records' when painting models I wouldn't have much of a Spanish Army 1808-1811 :) I would go with the Isembourg Regt.

I'll post a picture when they are finished, they are no Front Rank or Perry's by any stretch of the imagination, and they are quite slim – but I can put together 2x 24 man battalions for just over £10.00 GBP

I'm intending on using them to bulk out my numbers

At the moment I'm painting them as the Isembourg regiment, but I'm intending on doing the Irish Legion & Nufchatel. Makes a change from French Blue

You can always go to the Plastic Soldier Review they have great pictures of most 1/72 soldiers.

ferg – I have a couple of boxes of the Chasseurs. I plan using them to make two battalions of 24 of Croatian Infantry 1812. Love to see how yours turn out. Have you seen the Scott McPhee review of teh 28mm HaT figs?

There is WIP based on the HÄT-Chasseurs (1:72): Isembourg, Irish and Tour d'Auvergne.
For Neuchatel I'd rather not use the Chasseur figures – as far as I know this Swiss battalion never had lapels like these chasseurs. I am waiting for HÄT's French Line Infantry in the Bardin uniform – they should fit for Neuchatel too.

I'm a total luddite – do I need to put photos on a hosting website before I can put them on here!?
