This time I have posted the pics properly. I will also be running the campaign at Historicon this year with the addition of a Champion Hill Scenario as a prequel. Enjoy.
Porter's Ironclad flotilla rounds DeSoto Point
Lafayette burns from a critical hit. Four Union vessels sank in total. The Rebel shore batteries had a hot hand.
Pittsburg is tail-end Charly.
Signal Tower at Vicksburg.
Failed Union assault between the 26th Louisiana Redan and Fort Hill.
Two failed assaults on the Salient Works south of Vicksburg plus a close up of a CS battery in the Salient Works.
Very high casualties resulted from several waves of attacks against the Railroad Redoubt west of Vicksburg. The campaign resulted in a resounding CS victory. The first CS victory in three full Vicksburg Campaign games since 2004. |

I have a few more of the "Porter Runs the Guns" Scenario from Friday afternoon. I used low lighting and some small blinking lights to simulate the tar pots and bonfires used to back light the ships. These shots include the Tuscumbia, which as Florida Tory stated yesterday, was the first off the board.
Traffic jam at DeSoto point.
Tar pots light up the fleet as the navigate past the Water Battery.
The Big Muddy and the bluffs at Vicksburg. You can also see the aft end of USS Benton.
DeSoto point from the north shore.
The Mississippi Fortress: I hadn't turned the lights down yet. : )
One more of the Flotilla and Vicksburg. See ya'll at Historicon! |

Are those 1/600 scale ironclads? |
ACWBill | 25 Apr 2013 4:57 a.m. PST |
@jgibbons They are all 10mm and most are from a line previous sold by Thoroughbred then Old Glory Shipyards which was sculpted by a fellow named Jim Brokaw. They are no longer available. I scratch built Tuscumbia and Benton and kit-bashed a 90 day gunboat into the Sterling Price. |

And don't forget Bill will be our guest of honor at Hurricon, 26-29 September. For more information hmgs-south.com. I can attest that once he puts his games on the grid you will want to pre-register for the convention and for his games as he was VERY popular at Recon! |
