Has anyone tried getting plastic bases made up at label stores? Something like a 2mm thick Gravoply 2 40mm x 30mm etc etc.

e.g. trefolyte.com.au/index.htm

Any horror stories or success? What did you use?

Considering giving it a go…please talk me down from the ledge.

Sounds like you are making something simple needlessly difficult. Why not just buy bases?

Or even make your own. I make most of my bases from mount board.

I just cut up styrene sheets, which come in a variety of thicknesses. Measure, score, snap.

I either make them out of balsa or plasticard, or buy pre-cut mdf bases. Simple.

Wargames Accessories makes 2 dozen+ stock sizes and will custom make anything within reason, and the metal helps keep stands still in storage with magnet sheets.
