I just visited Tombstone. Tell me about available Wild West rules. Want something simple. Dead Mans Hand, Knuckle Duster, ????? etc.

Thanks,

Al

If you can find them, Desperado are really simple, the 1st and 2nd Editions are the best. Also Gutshot are really good, as are The Rules With No Name.

Played TRWNN recently and thoroughly enjoyed them. Just received Dead Man's Hand and have yet to play a game – look equally fun.

(I believe TRWNN are available free from the Yahoo group)

Blackwater Gulch is new and free. I found it fast and fun to play. The downside is that there is a bit of a learning curve for custom characters and the system appears to reward min/maxing, so you get the most mileage if you use the pregenerated character cards.

Some people swear by Six Gun Sound and The Rules With No Name. TRWNN is a free download. I looked at it, not my cup of tea.

Dead Mans Hand looks intriguing but it is so new not many people will be able to comment on it.

Legends of the Old West is quite good, but old and very hard to find.

7TV works well.

Me?
Six Gun Sound is fun, but you have to like the 2HW style of rules.
TRWNN is solid, fun and fast.
I have Blackwater Gulch. I have read through, but not played yet. Looks fun to me.

Legends of the Old West if you like GW games. Plays about the same as other GW games with a few 'twists' ala Hobbit and LotR.

Take a look at Gunfight! by Flagship games. It has a cool "gang getting better with experience" component to it that I liked a bunch. You can get those through Scale Creep.

The Rules with No Name

Blackwater Gulch (a bit too GW for me)

Legends of the Old West (Warhammer Historical, out of print)

Dead Man's Hand (interesting sounding, pretty cinematic)

Six Gun Sound (haven't played it)

Shoot N' Skedaddle (my own game, in progress…available shortly)

Desperado (there is a new copy coming out shortly so I hear)

Gutshot (a bit more RPG-ish, far less models than most other games)

sneakgun23 Apr 2013 3:12 p.m. PST

All the above!

Dead Man's Hand was featured in the last issue of Wargames Illustrated and a recent issue of Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy. Take a look at the stuff on our website: link

It is really fast, furious, cinematic gunfightin' action!

Hi,
Go for RWNN, it's the best fun you'll get for free! We played an excellent game of RWNN last night. It was action packed and full of tension. My mate Goodwood has come up with a great card based modification based on Texas Hold'em poker which adds even more fun to the game. Check out what he says at colourofwar.blogspot.co.uk
All the best,
George.

Simple: A fist full of lead. a few bucks as a PDF my go-to-Convention game system.

TRWNN for a more in depth, and flexible game system, my favorite.

Gutshot: is more RPG then mini system.

Legends of the Old West: to convert Warhammer players.

The Rules With No Name is indeed still available for free, but the hardback book is a real treat to look at and has a LOT of extra rules added in. I got mine on Amazon for about twenty bucks and it's worth far more.

EDIT: Well maybe not $52 USD… 8)=
