Just a few pics of the two tables…

…and how we got it there for the 1200KM round trip…

Big well done to all the GMG crew who went, Skip for the terrain build, Tom for driving and paintwork, Ruardhi for being the demon-talker to people and Garry for not dying… Also to Warwick, Russ and Andy who ket us entertained in the bar and at Salute.

Was a good fun weekend and one of the best hobby experiences ever and our clubs first ever demo game.

That said, Im exhausted so a few days off all things wargaming for me!

Stunning looking games Piers, well done to all concerned :-)

Well done all. I really like the way the river was done. Any way of getting a bit of info on the build of the river section?

Most impressive!

Tim… Yes all the way from Kildare in Ireland to London for the show…

Was a little tiring to say the least!

Always enjoyed looking at the high standards of the scenery of the boards.

Stunning!

Will you be doing something special like this for Fall Of the Reich like a Berlin street scene ?

Fish23 Apr 2013 4:27 a.m. PST

Lovely stuff.

Were these just showpeices or were they actually being used for gaming at the show?

Gees, that's making my eyes water, really great boards Piers, I could only dream having the time, space and volume of models to achieve this, truly excellent… I can say nothing more…

All the best,

Ark3n

Piers, that was a great game you guys ran and it was a friendly one too as you chatted about it to my friend Graham (who is becoming known at Salute as "man with rucksack that's as big as him") and myself about how you put it together. Just what a demo game should be! Well done.

PiersBrand23 Apr 2013 6:41 a.m. PST

Yup… Both are playable games… Never seen the point in building scenery if ya cant play on it!

Ubercommando… Glad you liked it, I was a little hungover after the Friday night!

And yes… His rucksack was huge. ;-)

Mysteron… Not decided what we will do for Fall of the Reich yet… Likely a ruined city.

Inspirational stuff as always Piers. Look forward to seeing future developments.

'Yup… Both are playable games… Never seen the point in building scenery if ya cant play on it!'

Doesn't answer the question, does it now? Were the games actually
Being played at Salute? Or were they just a table of pretty
Figures, and nice terrain?

Yes John, both games were played at Salute.

Though we only got one game in on Omaha in the afternoon as we spent alot of time chatting with people about the game.

Good, so glad to hear it! Games being set up,
Then not played is such a waste of time!!
The games looked great, hoped they played out
As good as they looked!

John
