I am working on a set of simple Napoleonic rules to be played on Memoir-style hex mat. The game uses a deck of cards for each side – basic deck of 36 cards with some extras based on national army or scenario. The rules will be posted for free when they are done. I'm working with hand-drawn cards but figure few will do that. I'm preparing files that can be used to print cards. Right now I'm working on templates that will print card decks on business cards – using Avery 5876 business cards. These are fairly fancy business cards, 10 per page. If your printer isn't up to snuff you could get them printed at Staples or similar. I'm using some color (red for Allies, blue for French) but am keeping it simple so it doesn't eat toner cartridges. I'm wondering how many folks would find that useful, or do I also need to make a PDF file that people can print on plain card-stock and cut them out? |

You may wish to consider the 'Magic Set Editor', and use a Print to PDF converter. This will give 9 cards a page, on a nice layout. Also this lets you print each card as a n individual file, so you can use on sites like Artscow to print your packs. magicseteditor.sourceforge.net Sets I have made include these link link |

For my custom cards, also for R. Borg games, I cut from heavy cardstock. I use a Filemaker Pro database to design and output my cards to 8 1/2 X 11 and cut them with a papercutter. |
