Anyone able to clarify this? I have seen description ( in the translated document that someone linked to a couple of weeks ago, I think it's Viskiatov or something close to that)referring to "piping on collar edge" followed by illustration showing it on upper and lower edges. Other pictures, eg in Funcken, Haythornthwaite, show it only on the front and upper edges. Similarly with the green cuff flap, text describes this as piped, but accompanying illustrations show no piping.
I am painting 15mm AB Horse Artillery, so not that crucial, but I would like to get it right when I start on the 28 mm stuff.

Anyone familiar with TMP and Google would be able to clarify this.

have a look at IMPERIAL RUSSIAN ARMY 1800-1812: ARMY ARTILLERY PDF link

Prince of Essling- this is the link that's causing my confusion! The pictures don't seem to match the words. Confusion confounded by the other books, which I have used as reference material for years.

Hew Johns-I am very familiar with both Google and TMP, but it doesn't help!

No artillery info provided on that link.

Viskovatov text does not match illustrations. That was the original problem.

How is this difficult to understand? Viskovatov is fine, as is Mark Conrad's translation of his work. It's the individual who 'assembled' the PDF file who erroneously 'marked-up' the graphics who introduced the problem. Try looking at the illustrations provided in Viskovatov:

Thanks greystreak- just shows the importance of being able to access original sources.
