I saw a few items on the Monolith Designs website that I was interested in purchasing, but when I went to place an order I discovered that payment could not be made electronically. I was a little surprised so I thought I would ask if anyone in the US has made purchases from Monolith Designs and how are they to work with? Do you have any recommendations? Because I live in California there is an 8 hour time difference which makes calling by phone more of a problem than it would be if I lived in the UK, Europe or even on the east coast of the US. I'd appreciate your thoughts and guidance. Richard

Took me one and a half years to get an order one time back in 2000, or therabouts. And from watching on TMP he has a very spotty record. Beware.

Their stuff was great but I believe they went out of business.

Thanks for the help. I'll do without the Monolith Design pieces. Richard

Last news that I heard was on Meeples. link
It would be good if they were resurrected as they had some lovely stuff; I never had any problems with them when they were trading, but that must have been 4 or 5 years ago.

Of course, from a figures point of view (as opposed to their scenery) their sculpting was done by Jim Bowen, who sadly died a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know who now sells the Graven Images range sculpted by Jim Bowen?

Am I correct in that the Meeples article linked to is TWO YEARS OLD?

I made two orders, one in December, 2013 and on in January, 2014. Both orders were filled and arrived quickly. I had good communication back and forth with Steve by email.

Since then, I haven't been able to raise him now that I want to order more. He seems to be hard to contact at times. I'm glad I got him at the right moment. The figures are superb and I'd hate to have missed out on them. I only hope I can get ahold of him again.

The black hole of Monolith seems to keep getting blacker. I contacted--or tried to contact--Waugh games about the range and have received no answer. Did I email on a bad day?

I'm particularly interested in the 40mm Prehistoric Europe range. I ordered all the figures Steve had available in December/January. I had several email exchanges with Steve at that time and he mentioned that the PH range had many sculpts by Jim Bowen that still needed to be mastered: cavalry, another chariot, more slingers, two-handed axemen, long spearmen, more champions. He said in January that he expected to have figures available in March, but then he disappeared and all attempts to contact him have been met with silence.

PH is an excellent range and I've blogged about its wonderfulness here: link

So far, I have everything currently available for the range. I'd love to expand it, so I hope to see the remaining sculpts available. It would be a shame if these beautiful sculpts should disappear from Jim's notable legacy for lack of interest in getting them into production.
