"How Many Conventions Do You Plan To Attend In 2013?" Topic

A simple, but important, question for all of us that should be quick and easy to answer.

As a sub-topic for the GMs, how many games do you hope to run this year? That includes club, convention and home/basement games.

For both topics, feel free to add whether you are increasing or decreasing your efforts from past years.

Lastly, I'll try to add our British and Canadian cousins into the discussion to see how their experiences compare to those in the U.S.

Two to four, depending.

Probably zero unfortunately. Other projects are getting in the way and require my attention. I'll try to make it up at the LGS.

Been to Salute. Planning on Bovvy, Attack, SELWG, Colours, and Warfare this year. More shows than last year.

On target to host and run about 25 games this year. Slightly up on last year.

I've been to Salute and will be attending Warfare later in the year. I may go to Colours too, so 2-3 shows for me.

Been to Cavalier and Salute so far. I'll most likely also get to Colours and SELWG later in the year. There was a local small new show in Sunbury a couple weeks ago which I missed.

The only other possible contenders are Valhalla in June (haven't been for few years) and Warfare in November.

Planning on two…..been to Siege of Augusta and going to Nashcon…..but you never know! I may try to get to a show in the Fall.

As for games I host a game at home almost every week apart from vacations but almost never play at a local club or a show.

Hoping to get to Origins this year but really looking forward to hitting the Scale Model World show put on by the IPMS-UK society. I had some frequent flier miles about to expire so figured I'd put them to good use !

2: NJCon in June, and Fall In. There's a local con called Cohorts that I plan on going to, but that's far from a national level con.

How many games will I GM? Maybe 20 at the club, and I am running the same game at all four shows above.

Two. Already did Spring Fever (March); will do Southern
Front (September).

Probably run a half-dozen games total this year.

Two for certain (Triples & Phalanx) but may do others, depends on transport, timing of other jobs and whether or not I can be bothered.

Already been to HAVOC in Shrewsbury, MA. I will attend Huzzah in two weeks…

Maybe one or two other northeast cons before the end of the year.

I might make one this year due to work and school. So far I will either make Fall In or Southern Front depending of circumstances and funds.

I hope to at least make two if not three in 2014.

Salute, SELWG, Warfare & Dragonmeet looks like the lot for me, unless the Ilford group are putting on Rampage. I just attend as a punter rather than a GM.

I went to one this year and that's plenty for me! Usually I avoid them as I get bored stiff after about an hour.

I thinking very hard about making the jump across the pond for Salute in 2014.

Attended 2 so far – Williamsburg Muster and Cold Wars, and will attend Historicon and Fall In and maybe Guns of August.

I have run 6 games so far at the first 2 conventions and am already signed up to run another 3 at Historicon – running 1 and assisting with 2 more. I might also be running the FOG-R Tourney again.

Unfortunately, Hot Lead was out (Grrrr….), Historicon gives me a work conflict, and I can't commit to anything after that due to work, re-enacting, and some family obligations.

Aren't I the Lucky One? I run Games at all the shows. Also Play every 6 weeks at Essington Day of Games. Run games for other local Clubs in the Tri-State Area (PA, NJ and DE)

Was planning on running one for Origins, but have sent four emails to them trying to get some questions answered on time slots, and havent had a response…(and this was since January)….

I run on average about 3 games per con.

I run about 12-15 games a year at club meetings.

Attended Williamsburg Muster (for the first time) and co-hosted games at Cold Wars. We're signed up to run two more games at Historicon. I don't know the situation for Fall In yet.

I play 2-3 games a month in a "good" month otherwise, and in a "bad" month can be 0-1.
