What color do you paint the post? I have the sea stands and have the sea painted and the airplane painted, but what about the post? Light gray? Light blue? Black? I'm leaning towards light gray, but what color do you like and why?

If you'll be playing on a sea mat, I'd paint it the same color as that and the base, so they blend in.

I'm not a fan of lighter colored posts, since you are usually looking down on the minis from above, during play (at least I do).

Of course, if you'll be down level with the aircraft, and have a sky-colored background border, then paint it to match that, but most of us don't.

I paint the entire stand light blue.

Not sure what a "CAP Aero" stand is, but here is a nice homemade stand invented by my old game partner John Hernandez for 1/1200 aircraft used in the old SPI game "Air War". It consists of a metal washer, a Z-shaped piece of steel wire, and 2 loops of soft plastic wire insulation glued to the bottom of the AC and to the top of the washer. The washer is then covered with a piece of colored paper. This stand allows climbs, dives, and banks to 140 degrees to either side of center. I don't think the wire is painted. The price is right, too.

Planes are 1/1200 Iraqi Mirage F1s, but we used them for WWII as well.
