It's really hard to tell in pictures – even current photos of WWII uniforms – whether Kriegsmarine uniforms are dark blue or black. I always thought they were dark blue, but now I'm not so sure. Help!

The ones issued captured khaki denim uniforms were khaki:)

Good point, Martin. I think the Peter Pig figures, though, portray them in standard German uniform – unless they were very similar in cut.
