Can anyone tell me how thick Renedra's plastic bases are? I'm hoping they are comparable to GW's Warmaster bases
Thanks!! renedra.co.uk/webstore.html# |

They look like they are about a 1.25-1.5mm thick. Hard to tell on my ruler exactly. |

And putting them next to a Warmaster base, which I should have done in the first place, they are exactly the same thickness. Do you need Warmaster bases? |

Hi Pictors, Thanks! That is excellent, and most appreciated. I could use some Warmaster bases, if you have extras going spare! If so, please email me at jihughes (@t) yahoo (d0t) c om. But the info about Renedra is very useful either way, because I want to get some of their various size & shape bases too. Thanks! |

not thick enough, that's for sure i used their 6cm x 4.5cm bases and after a 6/12 months they started to warp (lift on the corners is about 2mm, so the base wobbles) |

My MDF bases by WARBASES are said to be 2mm thick. I can stack 4 Renedra bases next to 3 Warbases bases to get the same depth – so 4 Renedra bases appear to be around 6mm thick
or 1.5mm each. |

Thanks norm smith. Pogoame-- thanks for the warning! what kind of surface did you put on them? Glue and sand, or just paint and flock? |

And were they ever left in any significant heat? Just curious

pogoame ---------------- Thats interesting – most of the Renedra bases I have used evostik on have warped with the area where the glue was bulging and slighly different in colour – superglue doesn't seem to have same effect. This is before putting on any surface that could have pulled the base up. as to heat – am living in the NW of England – whats heat? |

@Ivan DBA i glue the figs with woodglue then i use Coat d'Arms Brushscape first to hide the figs base and give some height/weight to the base (use mostly 28mm plastics) then woodglue and sand and finish with drybrush and flocking/tufts Alex |

Just take a sheet of mounting board into your friendly local printer and have his assistant put the board through their laser cut gulliotine to whatever size you want. It'll cost you the price of a drink, a coupla bucks, and takes literally five minutes to do a whole board. You will then have enough non-warping bases to last you for the rest of your life. and a fracion of the cost of commercial bases. |
