Looks like the Japanese Air Force has been busier than usual in the last year:

Many of those sorties have been against the Chinese, in the area of the Senkaku Islands.

Also, there have been two incursions into Japan's airspace – one by the Russians, and one by the Chinese.

Decent fodder, if you are looking for a real world excuse for an aerial game on the tabletop.
