Very interesting data here about the contingents of some nations which fought for the Germans.
I did not know that a english soldiers was condemmed to be hanged for fighting with the germans.

There were lots and lots of people fighting for the Axis

I remember a number of years back one of our grad students talking about how her Dad had fought in the Croatian Home Guard against the Germans – I remembered the unit she mentioned and looked it up – not only did they not fight against the Germans, they were organized by and fought for the Germans – doing the math, I figure he was a farm boy of about 16 who signed up, probably with all his buddies, and wound up on the wrong side – when, years later, he has moved to Canada and is sitting with his kids – I can see how he put that spin on it

Frederick, or I can believe his unit changed sides later. Lot of that going on in the Balkans.
