Let me try this again. Just a quick kudos to Emil Horky and his Bohemian Troops miniatures. If you are interested in the TYW than you will love his range of 28mm minis. They are absolutely beautiful. The sculpting easily matches any of the top ranges currently on the market (I believe the sculptor is Paul Hicks). I ordered a small batch to take a look and see how they matched up with TAG. I can say they match up near perfectly in size, heft and style. Easily mixed within the same unit. On top of all of that the service was top notch. Over 14 GBP (that about $21 USD) and postage is free, worldwide. From Europe to US in about a week. horcata.eu |

I'll second that. Perfect Hicks castings and excellent service. We can only hope Emil will expand his range of miniatures |

Thanks for this information. Most helpful. Paul Hicks is a prodigious figure maker and I think this range is amongst his best work. I think the musketeer and the mounted bugler are exceptional. Really good. |

Captain DEwell: Paul Hicks is a prodigious figure maker I'd say he might even be close to rivaling the Perrys for output? I am amazed how many different ranges I sample these days and it's "Hey that's a Hicks ain't it?" He is definitely right up there amongst the nobility of figure sculptors these days. BTW, Cap'n, how be things be fer ye in ol' blighty these days? Cheers,

Greetings Cheriton, Thank you for remembering me. I thought about you a few weeks ago and, indeed, included you in a royal toast on the anniversary of the battle. Perhaps you caught a whiff of the aroma on the winds. Salute. I agree that Mr Hicks is giving the Perry twins a run for their money, although I see two distinct styles. I like both producer's ranges. Umm, I have enough of them! Knowing what Paul Hicks is involved in at the moment, I hope he does not run out of steam and leave ranges unfinished. I sincerely hope not for his own well being, and my enjoyment. Is it any co-incidence that the 3 subjects of my current interest are catered for by Paul – Otterburn 1388 (Claymore Castings), the siege of Port Arthur, Russo-Japanese War (Tsuba Miniatures), and the Spanish Civil War (Empress Miniatures). I'm one happy Captain. His involvement in the TYW is a surprise to me but what a fantastic range. All in all, an incredible 'newcomer' to the scene. Keep your powder dry, Cheriton. Best regards, D'Ewell |
