Aw dangit! Just when I make the decision to quit buying 15mm minis, ya'll go and make something irresistible that drags me back

You're gonna kill people with those. Excellent work I have to say I was never that struck with the original movie vehicle – It's ok (as a vehicle) but it is very iconic. The take you have done – with the different versions and so forth – is very, very nice. John T |

Helluva weapons system until you hit a speedbump and bog. Seriously – they look like they have pitiful ground clearance. |
28mmMan | 17 Apr 2013 7:51 p.m. PST |
They do look quite nice
:) The clearance issue
form over function in this case. :D |
dwartist | 18 Apr 2013 2:33 a.m. PST |
"The clearance issue
" I believe the wheel positions are variable. Check the link. |

John, which Slammers list would these fit best with? Or maybe we need a new unit? Please? Pretty please? |

I believe the wheel positions are variable. Check the link. It says you can cut the mounting pin off and adjust the wheels, so variable wheel positions don't seem to have been built into the kit design. I think they would make decent patrol vehicles for perfectly flat combat zones, perhaps urban environs. |

Wonderful. More aliens based vehicles. |

In this scale, adjusting the ride height 1mm equals 100mm, or 10cm. If you went for the recommended max of 5mm, that's 50cm, almost 1'8" extra, which should be plenty for most environments. I'm certainly going to be taking a close look at these on Saturday. Just need some USCM to ride in them. I know GZG will be there. How about QRF? |
Poi000 | 18 Apr 2013 8:58 a.m. PST |
Just seen that QRF are having a "We're not at Salute sale" instead. |

I will be getting a couple of the 6x wheeler's with the big gun turret they will be perfect heavy support for Colonial marines, i would also like to know if all of the turrets will be available to purchase separately ? |

"In this scale, adjusting the ride height 1mm equals 100mm, or 10cm. If you went for the recommended max of 5mm, that's 50cm, almost 1'8" extra, which should be plenty for most environments." yup, the vehicles are designed so that you can alter the ride-height easily by adjusting the mounting-hub for the wheels. That was something designed during the design stage of their design. If one wanted to be true to the movie then the maximum change should be 3mm (the Aliens Colonial Marines manual gives the variable ride-height as being 30cm on the M577) At the end of the day though its a cool design rather than a real APC, any issues with that design then talk to James Cameron. :-) FTI – the Original design was turned into a model recently: link The M577 in the movie was a significant change to that in the original concept.
--- Avamango: not at this stage, but I will ask Tim @ FATC if this is possible. |

I believe that there was an intent to produce 6mm versions , is that still likely ? |
dwartist | 20 Apr 2013 8:34 a.m. PST |
got some report and pics on the blog from monday. |
OctaChaz | 20 Apr 2013 9:07 a.m. PST |
Having seen them in person today, I can confirm they are very cool models, and seem fairly large, as they should be. Not what I was after though, I ended up buying 4 Kabardins, then going back later and getting 2 Hunchbacks

These are even better close up. Ran out of cash before I got there, but these are deffo on the shopping list. |

I bought 2 boxsets at salute and already made changes to the height as described, easy to do and works just as was described: You just trim wheel mount, put APC on card or plastic of desired height and then glue wheels on. VERY simple to do. I love all the FATC stuff, brilliant spaceships and the casting and detail is exceptional and they will be doing a kickstarter for 28mm versions of APC also, there is also a tank and one other APC to come and hopefully they will do the dropship also. |
