Normally, I wouldn't post something like this on one of the period boards, but perhaps Bill will indulge me this once. Given its role in the move towards independence, it might seem a little churlish not to acknowledge the sadness of the people of a fine city, which happens to be a hub of history for all of us here on the AWI Board.

Although we are 3,000 miles away, your friends are thinking of you today.

Thank you, have family that was there and are safe, just stuck in Boston with friends trying to get home.

Agreed, a cowardly and demented criminal act, my thoughts and prayers are with those in Boston.

These people that attack innocent women and children are all cowards with no courage or honor. They are scum.

Thank you SM! The heart felt sympathies coming in from around the world are truly touching.

I had a 21 year old nephew who was 1 block from the first bomb. He is uninjured but obviously shaken.

Particularly horrifying to me today is word that the 8 year old boy who was killed also had a sister who has lost a leg and his mother has a traumatic brain injury.

Agree with all above.God Bless to the our cousins in the USA from England.
Feel so bad for the guy who lost his son (and his wife and daughter are seriously injured too)
Glad your nephew is ok Uesugi Kenshin.

Had a wonderful holiday in the Boston area a couple of years ago and were met with kindness and hospitality all the way, so our thoughts are with you.
