nice model and very subtle paint job (the subtext being "much more subtle than I can do [quickly] nowadays!")

Very nice.

I didn't know anyone was making stuff like that in 15mm.

Looks like they did next to zero prep on this beast. There are rather nasty mold lines all over (notably on the gun barrels), a pit in the left foot, and that star looks like it was put on with masking tape. We'll overlook the lack of a feed chute on the ammo belts, but they're probably supposed to meet up with the ammo bins on the shoulders instead of just sticking there like fridge magnets. But a model done with the skill you could muster at the time is better than one that sits in pieces for a decade until you're "in the zone".

I thought the star just had a lot of decal film visible around it. And that's a bit 'hobsons choice'. Yeah, there's a few mould lines on the gun barrels but not something I'd lose much sleep over.

It gets really tricky to remove mold lines from slender gun barrels.

But I do like the piece. Might have to get some of those to compare with Gearkrieg minis.

The camera is an unkind mistress, especially in closeups. But I do have to wonder, why use a decal for star that could have been easily freehanded? It's not especially small or oddly placed – better to do it by hand and trade a tiny bit of regularity (easily disguised by a bit weathering) for that ugly film line halo.

Still, nice looking model overall. The few warts look simple enough to fix.

Heck, just gloss the area where the decals are going, then spray with dullcote after the decals have set!

The camera can be very unkind, especially when the pic is 2-5 times (or more) larger than the real thing. I've taken to putting a US penny in my pics to provide scale, after a friend told me, after seeing the pics, and then holding the model in his hand, "it's SO SMALL!". Well, duh. But not everyone realizes that.

Awesome belly plate. yeah, those rivets won't be bouncing around inside the suit on a belly hit by a three inch gun.

Neat
