Hey guys, can anyone tell me the origins of the green troll on the right in this photo? I picked it up in a miscellaneous bag o' lead at an auction…no words or dates on the base.

I have to say it's one of the most overtly terrifying miniatures I've ever painted.

Don't know, my guess would be Citadel or Ral Partha.

Love the sword on the other one though, that is a wicked, evil looking weapon.

It looks a bit D&Dish. I've been trying variants on "troll with hammer" at the Lost Minis wiki to no avail. Anyone know what the troll on the left is?

BME! Right? evil grin

Try here. dndlead.com/default.htm Lots of pics and listings from the late 70s and early 80s.

I was gonna say Inquistor Thraken.

But is this one it?

If so, it's listed by a site called "Pewter Manor": link

Theirs has a crystal in the hammer head. Might be a copy of an original lead/pewter sculpt from somewhere else?

EDIT: Looks like TBeyer found it while I was typing— and I found a copy of some sort.

So what the heck is that other thing?!! It's pretty scary as well.

Thanks!
Despite many long visits to Reaper's site I hadn't noticed that particular figure before.

The Ice Demon figure is cool, the sword is ridiculous.

I like the sword… it is HUGE but somehow I don't mind that on a big quasi-supernatural creature. Plus it looks like it was hammered out of some big jagged bit of scrap metal.
I can just see that troll swinging that gnarly thing to bisect a clump of town militia… clearing the way for its smaller compatriots.

One lucky uppercut and the troll is mute for life. Oh wait… they regenerate don't they.

Thanks very much for the collective miniature sleuth work. Both of these figures came in a random auction lot, and I just finished painting them up. I had no idea about the ice demon with the big sword, either, though I agree that its a badass weapon.
