Hi Friends Have you seen fantastic figures of TSUBA miniatures for this period?? What set of rules do you suggest for this period in 28mm? I don't like single basing figures and I'm not interested in skirmish rules. Thanks for help. |

Contemptible Little Armies? |

Square Bashing or Great War Spearhead but with fewer figures per base. Depends what level game you are interested in really. |

Piquet's Barrage supplement covers that period, along with the rest of the major early 20th century warfare. Good luck with your project! Eric Burgess Barrage site: link Piquet site: link |

If you are going to base them then may I suggest Square Bashing, Contemptible Little Armies, Battles for Empire or Future War Commander They all work for me See link |

If you don't mind tinkering, you might look at Might and Reason. It's a musket and horse set that with a bit of tweaking might fit your needs. |

The man clearly states 'I don't like single basing figures', and CLA gets suggested
twice! |

CLA doesn't have to have single based figs. Two to a stand will also work. Thanks, John |

Two to a stand will also work You could use Principles of War, it uses element style bases like Impetus. The RJW armies are featured in the army list book. |

Like you I fell for the Tsuba miniatures and don't like skirmish games. I wanted to play games at the brigade and division level. So I organised Japanese regiments of 9 stands each of three figures and Russian regiments of between 9 and 12 stands to represent the fact that Russian regiments were either three or four battalions whereas the Japanese were 3 battalions. I have done a division a side, four regiments each ( although the Japanese will have a Kobi brigade as well), plus up to six batteries (1 stand each), then 4 HMGs for the Japanese and 2 for the Russians. I have written my own rules, very loosely based on the original Fire and Fury – although in truth they now bear only a passing similarity. I haven't played a game yet, but the armies look stunning. |

Yes, Fire & Fury works very well for early twentieth century. I did a 1914 variant. 27-36 man regiments in 28mm must look amazing! |

They look great – I can't wait to get them on the table. You can see a couple of images (albeit rather poor quality images) on my blog. link |

I hope Empress put out some deals on these -they're the most expensive figures in the world!!! |
