I've just finished painting and basing up the Swiss contingent for my 28mm Italian Wars collection.

I think it looks quite the business.

What is your opinion?

Great work! Your focus on the project has been admirable, too.

Wonderful. Your paintwork does amazing things to those Old Glory figs

Very impressive, three pike blocks of 72 figures each.

But, interchangeable tubing for the flags, now that is clever.

Thanks, guys.

The flags on tubing is my all time top tip for units that can be used in lots of armies – ECW and TYW can swap, Italian Wars units can fight for anyone, even early 18th C stuff given the number of white coated, etc., units. It would also be a valuable system for swapping between historical and imagination armies in a flash – just have a change of flags to have both!

Here's a post showing what it's about.

BTW, not mentioned in the post: These 28mm flags are on 3/32" tubing (brass or aluminium by K&S of Chicago) over 0.047 gauge piano wire (same company). It is so VERY easy, and it costs pennies.

Your figure painting is celestial. I kneel before you.

I know the tube tip is an old one. I may have read it in Miniature Wargames in the first 100. It's something I should reconsider now that I'm doing more Italian Wars Armies.

Very beautiful sight!
Finally after twenty five years my Landsknechte have worthy enemies.

Great work you have done!

And thanks for the tube idea – brilliant!

OK, so the Italian Wars like that is my obsession too. However, I doubt I will ever get there.

Well done that man!
