Looking good. What was the condition of the 49 yr old decals or did you use new ones?

Abwehrschlacht15 Apr 2013 4:12 a.m. PST

Thanks Paul, the decals were actually in pretty good condition. However, the ones on the Alb were a bit damaged by time and haven't stuck down very well on the fuselage but I decided to use everything from the original kits.

Look good – I'll have to get around to building mine (about 10 years ago I got stocks of Biplanes in and…you know how it ends….)

Yes, building is what they are meant for. Nice looking too, judging by the pics….

My departed uncle put many of these and other brands together. All 1/72nd and all lovingly painted. This probably influenced me to get into wargaming at some point. Really fond memories of these! Thanks so much ;-)

Really cool and brings back memories. In the late 60s, when your two models were still rather newish, a friend and I bought some plastic WWI planes and refought some dogfights in a field on the local Bethlehem Steel Plant. We graduated to dogfighting on one of the parking lots with our bikes (Schwinn Stingrays). We worked out rules for maneuver and fighting, then pedaled like hell. I drove past the long closed up plant site just the other day and our field is now a bus garage for the city transportation dept. Ahh, youth!

Ahh, thanks chaps, I'm glad I brought back so many good memories. They were a pleasure to build actually and I'm glad that I decided to do so!

Just doing the same a mix of very old kits and new, they are for wargames so debating whether to put rigging on! A newe Hnadley Page has just arrived, will probably have a go at rigging it,

Tally Ho!
