Essex – but….

Their figures are all mono-pose, the guard infantry would be better in a standing position, and their heavy cavalry have javelins but would be better with bows, and they could do with some armoured horses. The range is getting a bit old now and could probably do with updating.

Having said the above, they are the bulk of my army because no-one does anything better.

I also use Irregular miniatures armoured swordsmen/javelinmen, and artillery models and crews.

Jacobite Miniatures made a Sung range. I have quite a few. They are a bit on the stocky side, but they are nice figures, especially the infantry and artillery.

They used to be produced by SimTac, which is now MSD Games (or Kryomek USA). Not sure what the status is now…
