Hi,

Just got the ballot for the Board of Directors election and there is an element that does not make sense to me.(well until I started typing this)

To the left of all the names there is the obvious place to show who you want with I guess a tick or X

However on the right of the first four names there is a phrase "(Write In) _________"

Now I have just started to type this I reckon not only are you expected to put a tick you also need to write the four names you want on the board.

This is the first one of these I have seen and layout is not really clear and a bit more description would be good.

So if you do indeed want the names written in full why bother with line to left of the names?

Also would be better to have a more normal Square box to place a X or Tick mark.

Anyway just some feedback on a newbies first crack at electing the HMGS Board of Directors…

(N.B. I gave this to my wife to see if she could understand the phrase Write In and she did not understand what was being asked…. )

And on a side note to this the reason both my wife and I did not get it is that the Four "Write In lines" are next to the first four names so it seemed odd the fifth did not get a "Write In"

What in effect might happen is that the effect of having those lines next to the first four candidates gives them an advantage and the last name loses out.

So in future better to have the "Write In" not against the names but as a separate area lower down the page.

Too late now but a pointer for the future…

Mark,
I think it was a place to write in the name of a candidate(s) not on the ballot. I would say that the "x" or check mark beside the "official" candidates would be enough.
