I've just finished painting a couple more Langton frigates.

Looking at the other posts here there seems to be more I could do with the sea bases – is there a sea bases for dummies guide anywhere?

Your ships look very nice. As for the bases, I'm with bluewillow on this. A little gloss varnish and they will look much better to you. Something else that will help their look is to find a "sea" cloth that is closer to the color of your bases, as it will make them blend in instead of standing out against the light blue.

Erm well my sea base started off a more blue shade, but sadly my efforts at crush dyeing it with aqua to add a few mottles weren't very successful and it's now a uniform aqua colour that my wife quite likes. When I have the strength I'll get some dark blue dye and start over.

Very nice Stephan. Great paint jobs and I especially like the paint jobs on the Martello tower, signal station, and the shore battery. Your photos would go great with a thread running on SOG-Anchorage having to do with shore scenarios.
