After some jiggery-pokery regarding the venues and what we would actually be playing, Phil and myself got a game of Bolt Action at the White Hart on Thursday evening.

This time we used 'full' 1000 point lists and played the 'Point Defence' scenario.

Very nice figures and report – reminds me of George MacDonald Fraser's "Quartered Safe Out Here".

That was my inspiration for this project.

Brilliant…I especially like your dice nests!

Thanks, the black dice are to track pins and the coloured dice track the 'to hit' number for mortars.

Do like the look of the Japanese forces.

Loving the figures, can i ask, what colours you used for the basing pallette as it's really effective.

Army painter for the Japanese?, looks excellent

Thanks all.

I don't use Army Painter, I prefer the Vallejo Sepia Wash, but if it helps I did a painting guide for the Japanese on the blog, you can find a guide to the colours used here: link

The bases are gritty sand stuck on with PVA glue, painted with Vallejo Field Drab, highlighted with Vallejo Dark sand and then washed with Vallejo Sepia Wash. I then finish off with Woodland Scenic scatter and MiniNatur tufts.

Great looking figures and excellently painted. I have also nicked your painting guide as well.

Thanks a lot
