With the release of the Red Star French I'm thinking what rules to use for skirmishing this. Maybe 'Troops, Weapons and Tactics' as I like the Lardies card systems and 'Big Men' (ho hum
)? Is there anything out there with Indochina 'flavour'. Don't know anything about 'Force on Force ' but that seems popular. I'm thinking a platoon or so on each side. |

You could also probably use Bolt Action as well. |

Basically wwii weapons on both sides, so possibly something written for the pacific theater. |

I would recommend Force on Force, especially if youre going to run some "real" irregular games – doesnt concentrate heavily on weapons, more on those whose behind `em. Sadly there is no actual source book in the FoF series for indochinas "adventures", but the "Ambush Valley" (`Nam book) will offer some baselines together with ambush alleys "open" datsources available via website and forums. |

A big question will be "what do you mean by Indochina flavor?" To me it seems it is really Vietnam with WW2 gear. You've got the French using loads of old WW2 gear, the VC as well. But you've still got the guerilla/ambush/hidden war. So I would use a set of Vietnam rules and just write up the stats for the small arms of the day. |

Ambush Alley/FoF is a good set that you can use with minor adaptations. It's very good for fast infantry actions. |

I'm thinking Disposable Heroes: Point Blank will be perfect for this. Players control a squad or section at most
.some good little firefights. |

If you are going for small actions, with a squad or two and maybe one vehicle per side, then DH: Point Blank is a great place to begin. |
