My good fellow:

I cannot recom, end a Vallejo blue for oyu nor can I answer with any solid reference on the colour of the putees, but I iwll offer this:
1. after a few min's search on the web I found only one photo of a re-enactor who was waering the blue putees and they appeared to be a very dark, almost black colour of blue. So perhaps Navy blue? Again I have no references I'm only offering an opinion.

2. If the unit were given the "Royal" title could the blue be royal blue?
Sadly I have no idea nor reference for the uniform of this fine regiment.

Hi there,

It is a very dark blue, somewhere between Oxford Blue and a mid-Prussian Blue, and not much hint of indigo, I think. Oxford Blue should do it (Vallejo or Humbrol perhaps?).

There is an example on display at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, Ontario.

Hausa recruits from Nigeria wore blue puttees, too!
