1) Clicking anywhere inside the white box round the news articles acts as a link, not just clicking on the text or image. IU reported this as a bug ages ago, but apparently I'm the only person annoyed by it. grin

2) Some news article images take you to the article (for example TMP link ) while some are just a link to … the picture on its own (for example TMP link click the headline text, go to the article; click the picture underneath, go to TMP link ) Why does this happen? How do I tell which stories do this?

Why does this happen? How do I tell which stories do this?

It depends on (a) your screen size and (b) the image size. If the image had to be resized for your screen, then clicking on the image takes you to the full-size version of the image. Otherwise, clicking on the image takes you to the news story as usual.
