Even if you're not (gasp!) a fan of Sam Raimi's original, this remake is well worth a looksee. Review just posted on my blog: link |

Reviews tell me it's gorier, but nowhere near as funny. I stopped dreaming right about then. |

I will see it. I don't see much in the theater but if I get the chance I might try this. |

I liked it. It had enough elements of the original to make me happy. |

I went to see it last weekend
Thought it sucked
The storyline was weak
the characters were "eh"
and they tried to cover it with "how gory can we make it?" Sorry folks
human beings don't have 10 gallons of blood in their bodies

I sure it's good – but no ash?! Uhhh
Yea. He's in there. Kinda. You have to wait til the near end of the credits. He basically only says "Groovy". Saw it. Fair. At best
Torture scenes went on too loong, imo. At a certain point, you lose the tension when these scenes get dragged out. And you can only see so many hand detachments that you get bored. I felt like they were Jedi! And, really? A car battery to get her back to life? Sheesh. While that was fun in Crank, that was not a 'serious' horror flick. Yea. No real jokes. But then again, ED1 didn't really rely on jokes or gags. IT was ED2 that really put it on the map as a gag factory! The only thing I really did like was the fact it was the druggie who was onto the demon possession thing early on and folks just thought she was trippin'. That was kind of a neat twist I had never seen. Overall, wait til Netflix streaming. I wish I had.

No interest. I did not see the first one. horror is not my movie preference. |

Probably not. As I've gotten older the "buckets 'o blood" approach has less and less appeal. Satisfied with my memories of the original. Michael |

Of course. I love horror movies and there's so few good ones than one can't be too picky! |

What! The druggie is the only one that knows whats going on! 'Cabin in the woods' anyone. |

It was pretty much bad. It topped my my limits for gore a few times, and that's the only thing I can say it did well. Basically, in the end, I wanted to get up and slap Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell both for putting their names on it. It's so bad that they had to cheat the story to make their ending. |

Do yourself a favor--go rent or buy the original and enjoy it, then put up pictures of Sam and Bruce and throw darts at them for cheapening a well-made cheap film. Sam and Bruce made the original on half a shoestring, but the lack of money can be a truly powerful inspiration for creativity. I guess if you can't produce a quality product, throwing money at it will make it better--NOT! Oh, yeah--my wife and I each want the sadly wasted hour and a half of our lives back. |
