Hey folks, I am working on putting together a miniature campaign, where in the players run an Executive Solutions type of enterprise where they take mercenary missions all around the globe. They will have a choice of missions, they will all be the mercs, and I will play the opfor and introduce plots and story to the game. They then get the money they need to equip and resupply of both the legal and illegal arms market. Pretty much a semi-rpg miniature campaign which I will run in 28mm. The focus will the be the missions they take, and the tabletop game, with the other stuff being abstracted as opposed to rped out. To that end, I was wondering what rules out there (other than D20 Modern) would be good for this? Are there any rules with a custom fit to describe exactly what I am proposing? Thanks in advance =) |

Would Judge Dredd or Necromunda work? Both are free and let you build a warband that can improve in stats and weaponry and cash. |

Special Forces, which is an older set of rules, sounds like it would be perfect for that. There was another one, called either Merc, or Recon, that would as well. Sorry, can't recall if they have suitable dicing conventions for your needs. |

Cool. thanks for the quick answers. I might go with Recon. One of my gamers, who was an infantryman in Vietnam in 1970-72 cut his teeth playing Recon back when it was brand new, it might be a kick for him to play in a game he used to run. |

Task Force Games Delta Force may work. Also look into Chameleon Eclectic's Millennium's End too.
