Our idiot service providers decided to migrate everyone to new servers… and they didn't tell me in advance. This means all our Websites are down right now.

Honestly, I'm furious. Apparently they have either sold their servers (and thus my businesses) to a new company, or have just changed their name to BoundGrid.net.

Aside from being a stupid name, I'M LIVID that they did this change without giving me any notice (and yes, I've checked my spam folder, and their online message boards).

I've also left a voice mail (no response… and of course you can never get a real person when you call them).

No response to the Support Ticket I filed through their control panel (which is working).

No response to the "Live Chat" (because it's NOT working).

As I said, I'm livid.

I'll let you know when we're back online.

And yes, we're looking for a new provider (again), but I have very specific needs and most hosts are not suitable (I need a reseller account that lets me host 20 sites for one monthly flat fee and it must support ASP and ASP.NET). So, shopping for a new provider is not an easy thing.

I'm hoping that when they get this done, they can explain their actions AND we'll see what their billing department does about this unannounced outage.

You should get at least 30 days free, for the hassle.

Like I said in my announcement….We need to get a rope…

I'd be more worried about information security etc. during something like that. Who knows what half-ass slackers they shifted your stuff to.

Good luck…

TurnStyle: You are SOOOOO right. After things are working, I have to change all the passwords and confirm that the settings are still intact to prevent fraudulent sign-ups to my account (I had that happen once before, years ago).

BTW: I'm still trying to get it back online.

Ugh.

Mike..I know you have bigger issues, but any chance you can send the replacement parts to the saloon that I requested a few months ago?

Thanks,
Dean L.

Dean: Glad yuh checked with yer buddy. I was pretty sure them parts went out ages ago!

And yes, the dang site is still down. I was on a super busy work schedule (12-hour days, no days off) and am just now at home again so I can work to resolve the matter. I'll either have it fixed before the end of this week or we'll take our business elsewhere.

Finally got the Hawgleg site up and running today. Including the forum.

Tomorrow, I tackle the Arnica site.
