Having read a couple of Wendy and Richard Pini's Elfquest novels(gotta pick up the graphic novels now) I'm inspired to build up a warband of Cutter's tribe.
These elves are short, about the height of Dragonlance Kender and ride wolves.
Does anyone have any idea of suitable models? I'm not looking for exact figures(unless someone produced them) but just models with the right look. Thanks.

Someone – I believe Ral Partha, scuplted by Julie Guthrie (?) – did them back in the 80s, and very nice they are too. Get thee to ebay. I've been looking for other lines that would fit but not had any joy.

Yep, Ral Partha in the 80's. Be advised, these were 25mm and the elves were @ 18mm tall.

They were really well done sculpts, too. I'd like to see someone pick up the license, but I guess Elfquest doesn't have the following today that it did 25 or 30 years ago.

One of my favorite minis ever is the RP Madcoil:

Ok thanks for the quick replies!

Cool, I just checked Ebay, and there are quite a few boxed sets and individual minis available right now, some for reasonable prices, some not: auction

I wouldn't have expected that after so long.

Capt Flash11 Apr 2013 8:02 a.m. PST

Yeah I saw some of that. Now I need to research the contents of each box. I think the elves being 18mm will be fine against 28mm humans. Unless I score the human tribes as well. Then it won't matter either way.

Depending on how 'accurate' you want your figures to be, you could try using 18mm scale figures, Elven, or Human, designed to ride horses, and put them on 25-28mm wolves. Paint them to look like the artwork for the characters in question, and you could save yourself $50 USD+. Just a suggestion. Cheers!

Those are nice figures, and sadly they weren't in my budget back when.

I have most of them, they are very small and thin compared to today's standards. They are TRUE 25mm and only 18mm at that.

They are my "one of these days, I want to relive my youth projects". Maybe use them to host the Elf Quest RPG if I can find a copy.
