Hi

There are several versions of this tank out there, BF, FIB, Skytrex, QRF etc but which one do you think is the best model/value for money ?

With a UK supplier if possible.

TIA

In the States, Old Glory with the Army Card gives you the best price.

This side of the pond OG's nowhere near as good a deal, so the field's pretty open. If you don't mind the cast-on bases, Forged In Battle would be my choice.

Yeah for Europe based if you can get over casted bases the FIB is my company of choice or if you are not in hurry wait for PSC Stuart kit.

I got some very cheap v2 axis and allies Stuarts for my flames of war gaming.

They are dirt cheap on ebay and with a new paint job and some stowage added they are the best value for money when it comes to 15mm.

The detail is not great but still pretty good and the money you save on the models allows you to purchase some stowage packs from battlefront or some other company and use that for customising the models. Adding a base might also help fitting them in if the rest of your models are from companies which have cast on bases (like forged in battle)

Hope it helps…

I have BF ones which I like, but for the desert, I am waiting on the PSC stuarts

Lordgoober11 Apr 2013 1:30 p.m. PST

Which may not be that long a wait. PSC's website has an apparent ETA for Stuarts of May. I just hope the Sprues have M3 chassis and turret in addition to the M5 line stuff. I need a bunch of Honey Stuarts ;)

Thanks for the replies guys.

Having looked at the press statement on the PSC website I think I will just have to restrain myself and wi
ait for their version.

Mine are FiB thay are a nice crisp model and I got them at a good price
I personally found the A&A ones too small – and I got 9 of them really cheap!
The main thing to remember is the Soviets used the early M3 model (with round turret) not the later M5 model

Looks as though there will be a wait for PSC M3A1s ?

15mm and 1/72nd Stuart M5A1 kit should be ready in June. Unfortunately, we could not fit the M8 option on the sprue so we will be doing a separate M8 and Jaloppy kit (not a conversion kit – a full kit).

Truscott: You probably got Stuarts from the first A&A set that was released, they are a smaller scale than the Stuarts made later, would be about 12mm scale or so. I have some of the A&A Stuarts in both scales and even the 15mm scale ones are not the best model, particularly the track assembly area.

Guthroth12 Apr 2013 3:39 a.m. PST

I don't like the cast on bases so I have been in touch with PSC directly.

They have said that the M3 Stuart options will not be in the first box release.

I think I will have to go for T-70's instead.

CATMAN212 Apr 2013 3:54 a.m. PST

PSC here

The M3 Stuart series kit will only be 2-3 months behind the M5 kit

Guthroth12 Apr 2013 4:14 a.m. PST

Catman2, that's great to know, but I want to assemble an army for use this summer.

Your stuff is great, but because I need the tanks in the next few weeks they will have to be T-70's

I might re-visit the M3 option later though.

Thanks,

Have to agree with Friendlyfire, the A&A ones from their Counter Offensive range are great. I have chopped some 30 cals off and have 12 of them IIRC.

jameshammyhamilton12 Apr 2013 9:00 a.m. PST

It is not that easy to find the A&A ones at decent prices at the moment.

With PSC aiming to deliver M5 and M3 Stuarts in the near future I will wait for them. You never know, I might even go for a desert British force.
