Anyone out there that makes modern troops zombies? In 15mm like the package deals, one can find for WWII Allies and Nazi zombies, like these at REBEL MINIS link wanting to do a military base and check points for a long running zombie game |

rebelminis.com/15zopa3.html Rebel Minis do some. They come in a pack with an undead bride and clown but maybe if you ask nicely they'll put together a special pack for you. Apart from them I don't know of any. |

Thanks I have seen that, but didn"t think of asking about a package deal of those, could also ask for some extra hazmat suited ones as well, but it,s an option |

Yeah, I really have to get around to that. It'll be a pack of uniformed walkers, maybe two or three of each -- soldiers, police, doctors, bus drivers, hazmat suits, etc. Our Eaters of the Dead range of modern zombies and survivors is now one of our most popular ranges and its in the midst of being greatly expanded. |

Is there a market for such things? If so would things like firefighters, police units, doctors and nurses, hazmat units or anything else along this line I recall in one of the zombie movies I had seen sometime ago, the theory in the movie was, that those who became Zombies end up hanging out at places they knew, or were the happiest, that some little part of their what ever was left of their brain drove them to go back to these places. Using the same rule (theory) of sorts in my game, as a campaign for all in the group, and knocking these zombie types over give the group a better chance to finding better loot |

Wow that would be great, seems you post your post just momments before my last one there |

Yes, we have some US troops in our current packs but have some new zombie soldiers, Zombie Medics, doctors and a lot more coming out. We have over 4 new zombie packs coming out this year so we should be able to fill your base up :) |

It all sounds great I can't wait to see what you all have coming, Thank You |

I think that was Shawn of the Dead? Or perhaps Zombieland? As to there being a market, yes I suspect so. We've got 27 unique poses of walkers, and 36 poses of survivors, plus 24 more survivors on the way! So it's about time we evened it up with some more zeds. Uniforms are probably a logical next step, because we've already got 20 poses in street clothes and seven severely decayed or in hospital gowns. |

I have a pile (200-250) of Rebel Minis zombies and survivors and they really make a game table rock. There is also a guy who runs massive games at HMGS shows with over 1000 Rebel zombies that look very impressive as well. I have seen Mike's new packs and greens and they are unbelievable. David |

Wasn't Shawn of the Dead just seen it, but it did have something along those lines about Happy Zombie Thinking, but this one was back in the 80s when I seen it, another "Everybody is trapped in the mall, AGAIN" I've seen everyones lines and planning on getting more of them all |
| khurasanminiatures | 10 Apr 2013 6:28 p.m. PST |
Maybe Dawn of the Dead? I haven't seen that in at least 25 years though
. |
| War Monkey | 10 Apr 2013 6:54 p.m. PST |
It wasn't that one either, but on the same line, the mall in this move was more on the out skirts of town, and everyone in the mall was more then happy to wait the whole thing out using the mall's offices as living quarters, but had to make a run for it later on when a group of road warrior types crashed in the mall's main entrance, and that's as much as I can remember of it |
| khurasanminiatures | 10 Apr 2013 6:59 p.m. PST |
That mostly sounds like Dawn of the Dead, especially the part about the motorcycle gang raiding the mall at the end. |

It's the (1978) Dawn of the Dead that talked about the Happy Zombies (don"t know how else to put it but as "Happy Zombies"), I was thinking of the (2004) Dawn of the Dead which I had just seen, when you mentioned it, and not thinking "HELLO" remakes For those who wish for a list of zombie movies link |
| khurasanminiatures | 10 Apr 2013 8:49 p.m. PST |
Yeah, I thought that was it! |

Yeah, that's the original Dawn if the Dead (DotD), made in 1978. The zombies are shamblers, not walkers (ie they move REALLY slowly) unlike The Walking Dead where they are Walkers and a bit faster. The DotD zombies do retain a smudge of memory. They grab guns and look at them with a puzzled face as they try to remember them, they will use implements as hand weapons in a really rudimentary way, and will remember things like old places they visited. They are also scared of fire and could be held back with even a small amount of fire. slightly different enough to TWD's zombies for a different game. I'd advise seeing the original DotD again, very good. |

Yes! and that's the kind of rules that I'm using, that they have some sort of memory, this way it's more likely to have more zombies in homes and buildings not all of them out on the streets and in the fields just roaming around, not saying that there isn't still roaming hordes, but for most part cop zombies at police station, or checkpoints so forth an so on. Zombies with some sort of memory are likely to be carrying something you might want too. Their walkers in the game but once out of sight or sound they tend to move back to their original locations, so you have an idea that they are there, you just don't exactly where, so in the game you can still run into a horde, and yet you still know you have to deal with more at what ever location your heading too. Actions of the zombies can draw attention of other zombies too, so zombies pounding on a door of a building your in will draw more zombies Yes DotD is a very good movie |
| Ark3nubis | 11 Apr 2013 3:59 a.m. PST |
The other things that makes the DotD zombies a bit more dangerous is that they can (due to their limited memory) open doors, and can 'remember' how to climb ladders and things. TWD zeds would be unable to climb ladders as it takes coordination and memory of where your feet are, something a brain dead zed just thinking about eating what's infront of it wouldn't do. I much prefer the TWD walkers to the DotD type but the latter would make for an interesting game, I like the sound of what you are doing, good job! |

Yes it is, Playing it as an RPG campaign, Zombie/Survival type game using a mix of rules from different games, like Twilight 2000 and other Zombie RPG rules, It also allows for use of using other miniatures working them in and out of the game, run ins with other groups friendly and foe, survival knowledge, gaming props such as a still for distilling water against diseases, almost makes the TWD seem lame Yes in time some of the Zombies do figure out the door knobs and many other minor things, but mostly just opening doors |
