Gentlemen (and Ladies?),

I'm actually getting some things done here in the Grand Duchy of Stollen! Click on the following link to see the latest painted figures:

That's great. I recognize the Eureka musicians but who makes the 18th century dancers? They are wonderful. Richard

The dancers, servants, and related observing/conversing guests are part of a large Jackdaw Miniatures pack that is available from Old Glory UK. A tiny bit of flash here and there on the castings, but it came off very quickly, and the figures were great fun to paint. . . A nice change from large units of identically uniformed figures.

FYI, the musicians are Eureka as are the dogs (greyhounds), Voltaire, and Fredrick II figures. The artist vignette uses three Blue Moon duelists that have undergone minor conversion work. The easel is my own concoction. The tables, chairs, and other bits are from Foundry.

Best Regards,

Stokes

Stokes, thank you. Let me pick you Jackdaw knowledge a little more. Here's a couple questions:
1) Since the time that I posted the above question, I found the Old Glory UK connection with Jackdaw, but all I found was pure military and no reference to the dancers, servants and related guests. Do the Jackdaw civilian "party people" have a specific package number/name and what do I look under on the Old Glory UK site to find them?
2) It appears that the Eureka pieces (28mm/I have the musicians and Voltaire-Fredrick combo/love them) and the Jackdaw which are listed as 30mm work together very well in terms of size. Is that correct, or am I just seeing what I hope to see?
Thank you and once again, your collection looks great.
Richard

Morning/Evening RIchard,

Let's see. . . Go to the Old Glory UK website. In the upper left-hand corner (or left-hand side) of the screen, look for Jackdaw 30mm figures, and then click on "Civilians". The item numbers you are after are: LWC01 'The Court, The Ball Part I' and LWCO2'The Court, The Ball Part II. There are descriptions there of package contents plus a few more photos of the figures to click on.

The Eureka figures are slightly heftier than the Jackdaw. The latter (mostly) have better, more realistic proportions while the Eurekas suffer from slightly large heads, hands, and heavy lower legs. That said, they all look pretty good painted up and assembled together into a large scene if that is the route you decide to take. Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Stokes
