Having got one for free, I've done a quick build and paint of the Warlord Games 28mm Farmhouse ruin.

A full review of the kit and a run down of my painting technique is on the blog, but in short, they make a good start but need more practice and variety; and the drybrush is your friend…

Enjoy!

Nice quick review with great pictures and good painting tips. The pieces have come out really well.
Have one of these myself and your review has it covered.

Where's the rubble?

Hmm, It's a valid point, if you want an accurate – Diorama – model. The kit comes with rubble sections largely intended to reinforce the corners, but like most wargame models the need for flat surfaces to allow figures to stand mitigates the actual representation of most of the rubble and detritus that should have only recently accumulated.

The rubble was used in the other piece in the same review.

Nice review, and a good job on the build.

I have just finished building seven of the Farm House buildings, which has allowed me to build quite a variety of structures, they are all primed and ready for the paint to be applied, so plenty of dry brushing coming up!

I agree about the point of not having too much rubble in or around the building, which allows for being able to move figures around with ease. However its is a gaming piece not a diorama so does it really matter.
