A 1/72 tank kit I recently purchased has tiny resin wheels and sprockets attached to a huge casting block. What's the best way to remove the block without breaking the parts? Jeweler's saw to remove most of it, then sand? Score around part with xacto knife/saw, break off block, then sand? Thanks |

Depends on how the casting block is attached. If it's just a thin wafer of resin, score and snap. If it's a more substantial lug, jeweler's saw and then file/sand out the rough spots. If you're daring, I've used flush cutters to cut away the lug as well, but there is danger of snapping/shattering the part if you're not careful

These are lugs/blocks and not wafers. I've considered using my Dremel, but that would create too much poisonous dust. So I guess it's saw and sand. Thanks |
