..in going to war, Eatsern Front WW2 at 1/300th scale. Vehicles, decals, infantry sorted, as are aircraft and paints.

Next two questions: one easy (I hope), the other is a 'how long is a piece of string' style question…

He wants a few fighters and tank buster type aircraft. My google-fu is weak I'm afraid, where can I purchase flight stands individually in the UK? (Not much call for them with 15mm Napoleonics so not in my sphere of knowledge)

Next up rules. If WW2 rules are anything like Napoleonic rules I expect many answers…

Rules recommendations please and thank you. Remember he is 9 years old (a very bright cookie, but still only 9 years old). Rules must be able to encompass a bit of aerial combat & ground to air (and vice versa too).

Bolt Action? Flames of war? Or something betterer that is simple but has the essence?

Also nothiing too expensive, as he is funding it not the bank of dad.

Thanks in anticipation

This is a nice cheap rules option to begin with.

The USE ME series of rules from 15mm.com might be worth checking out. There's a specific set for Ww2 and are reasonably priced at under a fiver.

I'm surprised to see a recommendation for IABSM. I wouldn't have thought TFL rules were suited to beginners, and IABSM is a company level 1-1 game, so not really that suited to playing with 1/300 scale, where the small scale means you can get a lot more than a company on the table.
