Does anybody use these products? If so, why do you like them? I am considering buying them, I have not played role-playing games in a long time. It appears that they could really make a sharp looking adventure.

I have had Campaign Cartographer for many years but do not use it frequently enough to become adept at it. CC3 is a very powerful CAD program but, too me, the learning/re-learning curve is a bit steep. Every time I want to use it, it takes a while to get myself back up to speed. Support from the designers and user community is excellent.

There are many examples of stunning RPG maps available. My usage is contained to making simple scenario maps for wargames. A simple example of my work can be found at:

I found the learning curve to be too steep. It makes gorgeous maps, but is better/more powerful than I strictly need, to justify in my mind investing the time to master and then to do. That's more my problem than theirs.

I have looked at Youtube and their are plenty of tutorials out there, so I am not too worried about the learning curve.

I used CC to make the maps for my 1809 Danube "Campaign in a Day, run November 2012.

The maps were gorgeousness, and it wasn't too hard to learn to use:

It does have its disadvantages as well. Play around with it, is my advice!

Oops, my error; the (free) software I used is "Battle Chronicler"

I've been using CC3, and earlier sets, for many years now.

I also use CAD programs in my career.

CC does have a steep learning curve, as do all very capable programs, but the end products are usually well worth it.
