Earlier today at the Diceni event in Norwich, UK., I watched a game of Bolt Action for the very 1st. time.
Featuring American Paratroops V German SS.

I liked the random action dice mechanic!

Your figs., look good:)

I suggest you to highlight the flesh. It dramatically improves the look of dipped figures and it takes just a few minutes. They also look a little bit shiny. Did you coat them with a matt varnish? (I use AP Antishine)

I know you really dont want to do highlights or dry brushing for the reasons you site in your first post but really should make an exception for the flesh portion. You are doing very nice work but the overall effect is lessened, in my opinion, by the flesh portions, especially the faces which seem much too dark.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks chaps,
Yes they have been matt varnished with AP.
They're not shiny in r/l, just something to do with my photography.
The faces too aren't as dark in r/l as they apper in the pictures.
I'm sticking to no highlights until I've got them all done. Then I may reconsider.
:)

I've never stopped at a WW2 game because the faces were highlighted. Nice vehicles and boldly painted figures that I can pick out on a cluttered battlefield.

I'd be able to pick those out in the brush, so well done!
