With the new Tour of Duty book out I have had a tinker with some of the stats for the Yom kippur variant and did a bit of playtesting on Friday night. I've posted up an AAR on my blog with the stats and points that I used and some discussion around them. Let me know if you have anything to contribute or if you want to do some playtesting yourself.

Great stuff! I wish I had the miniatures to help! Maybe Battlefront has something with a modern Flames of War. How about Folda Gap?

Oh that is cool. I would get involved in that if I could do the Yom Kippers.

Interesting stuff!

Thanks for your work on this, Nate. This reminds me of playing AH's "Arab-Israeli Wars" game in my younger days. One of the things that I distinctly remember is that the Arab tanks couldn't depress their gun barrels as far as the Israelis could. This resulted in a much more effective hull down position for the Israelis.

It makes one wonder why BF doesn't do all their Vietnam panzers for the Arab Israeli Wars.
At least THESE were famous for tank battles, unlike…

To throw off the mantle of "hater" grin I would be much more interested in FoW for the AIW than for Vietnam.
To my uneducated eye, they have a whole bunch of AFVs done already.
And here is a fine eready made excuse to put off Barbarosa a few more months. Not that they need one.

No infantry?

American War of independence, John? I thought you already had your rules sorted for that…

Ken, there are infantry and infantry rules, but this was just to play with the armour given the stats that came out for Tour of Duty. The rest of the lists are on my old blog here if you haven't seen them:

and a battle report here:

There have been a number of battles since, but I never seem to have my camera and I don't like doing blog posts without the eye candy alongside.

Thanks for the positive comments.

Looking good

AIW = Arab-Israeli Wars
AWI = American War of Independence
It can be confusing at times due to the similarity of the acronyms.

But there wasn't a really cool movie to inspire the alcohol-fueled creative juices for the designers.

That's all the break I will give Battlefront, though.

Hopefully someone is thinking about extra uses for the moderns molds, I really like how Flames handles the armor/infantry/arty interactions
