I'm curious if the rules used note the mechanical unreliability of Russian armor during this geopolitical disagreement? |

very nice :-) I know the Lardies IABSM models mechanical unreliability for Soviet armour

I am not getting any cold shudders from those. The way the snow is formed into thick clumps suggests temperatures around zero Celsius. Actually cold weather (say -15 to -20 Celsius or so) tends to result in dry, fluffy snow, that does not cling into surfaces like that. The amount of snow clumps around the tracks/wheels of some of the tanks suggests that they have not been moving lately, which makes me think if they have been actually abandoned by their crews. In any case, very nice looking work. (But why is this in the Interwar board, rather than properly on the WWII board?) |

Well, having spent the last four months shovelling Finnish snow around at different temperatures, I might be taking the subject a bit too seriously. That said, some of those snow clumps really look to me like somebody had been shovelling snow on top of the tank at around zero Celsius. On the other hand, there are some other areas where the snow effect has been done much more subtly, giving an effect that really looks like a light covering of dry fluffy snow that partially disguises the surface underneath. This is the sort of snow that I associate with really cold weather. I think that for vehicles that are kept in action, snow would be best applied rather subtly. Heavier usage of the snow effect might be more appropriate on bases, bunkers and terrain items. |
