I've been a devoted GMB guy for a few years now, but decided to give the Victrix Decal Flags a go. I was intrigued by the idea of being able to stick them on aluminum foil so the flag actually looked like cloth. (I also simultaneously tried out some of the Army Painter basing grass clumps and flowers to dress up my French Army bases.) They turned out looking really great I think. Here they are on my blog: link |

Glenn, They came out great!! I know a couple of guys that have glued GMB to aluminum foil, I've always been concerned on how well that would take. Not an issue with a decal though. I've used the Army Painter clumps and flowers for a while now. It really dresses up the bases and yours came out really good looking. John |

Nice looking flags. Did you then put any protective coating over the flags so they don't chip or peel later? |

Thanks guys. I'm pretty happy with both the flags and the clumps and flowers. I plan to use the clumps/ flowers on all my Napoleonic bases
Lots of work to do
I did use a matt varnish (as they recommend in the instructions) for "protection and to reduce shine." I used some Model Master Flat Clear Lacquer Finish – brushed on. Worked well. |
