Hi All, Wanted to share a few photos
here is my rendition of the IJN Carriers that took part in the raid on Pearl Harbor. You can see a lot more photos on my blog if you're interested: link
Let me know what you think! Tanner |

When do you sell the decals :) |

Wow! Really outstanding work, and the time you spent on the 60 Zeros was not wasted! |
taskforce58 | 05 Apr 2013 12:22 p.m. PST |
They look amazing! The deck markings are very well done. However I wonder that shouldn't the B5N Kates be painted dark green overall with medium grey bottoms, instead of light grey overalls like the Zeros and Vals? |

Spectacular! Heck, your whole blog is spectacular!! |

Thanks for the kind words guys :) TaskForce58 – you're right that the Kates would be green but these are all Zero's being launched for CAP. The GHQ blister packs only come with a few Zeros so I decided to model CAP only :) Tanner |

Oh. Ah. Teeny-weeny little hinomarus on the wings of 1/2400 Zeros. Sir, you are mad, but it's a glorious madness. |
taskforce58 | 05 Apr 2013 12:50 p.m. PST |
Tanner – ah that clears it up, I wasn't sure of the aircraft type you used there. Anyway modeling a CAP launch on the deck makes more sense as that would be the more common kind of deck ops as opposed to spotting a full strike. |

Tanner, Those aren't "nice", they are "glorious", simply superb. Wow! Mollinary |

Absolutely beautiful work, Tanner! |

Wow as someone who has a bunch of 1/2400 scale ships I know how hard it is to make them look that good. Your work is wonderful. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

If you're going to post pics of minis on TMP, you could at least spend a bit of time giving them a decent paint job first
;) Oustanding work. Hoser |

Wow! I thought that was a pic of nicely done, 3-D artwork, at first. I'd love some decals too, if you decide to put them into production. |

Great, fantastic work! I'd buy those decals
I need those decals, actually, having recently gotten back into 1/2400 WWII after 35 years and purchasing complete Japanese, US, Dutch, British and German fleets from GHQ. Only the Italians to go! (Of course, I have about 200+ ships yet to paint
) |

I second on buying the decals. sign me up for a set. |

Thanks for the feedback guys :) For those interested in the decals
do you think you'd buy them if they were a PDF Download that you could print on your home Inkjet printer? Or you'd prefer a ready-made decal? These are printed on white decal paper using an inkjet printer as I wanted to avoid the whole ALPS route. The beauty about these is that they can be printed on a relatively cheap printer (I am using a $100 USD HP Inkjet from Costco). The artwork is designed to ensure sharp details and exact lines. It is also designed to compliment the detail of the deck surface (elevators settle over the scribed lines of the elevators on the model, etc.)
Thanks, Tanner |

Stunning. The precision of the decals makes these models look so good. If I were GHQ I'd be asking to buy your artwork! |

SSuperb models! How can I have these "decals"? |
CharlesRollinsWare | 06 Apr 2013 2:47 p.m. PST |
Those models are amazingly well done – however, just an FYI, the "meatballs" on the four carriers were not carried on the carriers during the Pearl Harbor attack. Rather, carriers of the 1st and 2nd carrier divisions had those painted on after they returned from the Indian Ocean raid and prior to their deployment for the Midway Operation. Again, though, beautifully done :) |

A PDF might work for some. For me, I'd need the decals though, since the printer is old, and there are some streaked lines, due to that. Probably time for a replacement, but can't afford it. |

Thanks again for the feedback guys :) Decals vs. PDF are noted
I hope to make these available in the near future. Keep an eye on my blog if you're interested as I'll likely have an announcement there. CharlesRollinsWare – thank you for the feedback, I should have mentioned that these are the carriers that took part in Pearl Harbor but not necessarily the configuration they wore at the time of the raid. I have the decals in several configurations , including without the meatball, but since this was the first time I was showing these carriers off I opted to use the meatball as is provides a very striking visual effect. Thanks again, Tanner |
