It is good to be King Supporting Member of TMP03 Apr 2013 7:35 a.m. PST

I am about to resurrect my long dormant 25mm ECW project. I am looking to add to the cavalry of which I currently have 25mm Hinchliffe figures. I would like to add some other manufacturers figures for variety. Can someone give me some ideas on what figures are compatible with 25mm Hinchliffe ECW Cavalry figures? Thanks

Elite and connoisseur ranges were sculpted in the Gilder style, I think.
Wouldn't Old Glory be of similar size?
Checked the Elite site and I do not see a ECW range.

Height is OK for above but Hinchliffes are much thinner. The guns and equipment are still great.

Foundry are not too bad

Minifigs perhaps although the horses are quite different? Peter Gilder certainly had some MF foot figures mixed with his collection. I suspect the usual proviso applies, ie. not in the same unit.

I agree, the guns are superb, the Cannon Royale is a great looking thing.

Try Bicorn however I beleive that their ECW are chunkier than their Naps but I may be wrong, I know Matchlock do 28mm ECW, they may match too as they are an old range, think it maybe that you just have to guess what may match and send for samples, Hinchliffe are still in production available from Hinds Figures

In general Garrison are probably the best match, infantry examples here:

Minifigs are OK (and i prefer their horses to Garrison, though neither are as good as Gilder's), but somewhat stodgier than Garrison.

The Bicorne ECW figs will pour scorn on those old Hinchliffes. They are probably the best ECW figs out there and much larger.
I wouldn't bother with Minifigs as they are charging modern style prices for very old school figures-unlike Hinchliffe.
I do have some Hinchliffes though and I love them!!!

Hinchcliffe figs are still available.

Looking at that image the Hinchliffe look at tad taller that leads me to wonder if the Garrison are a perfect match with Minifigs.

I have a large MF collection but have recently been painting Perry ECW. The latter take me more than twice as long to paint as the MF and have some curious anatomy. I've found one guy with a six inch finger and there are some very annoying infills of quite large lumps of metal so although overall they are fabulous they are but no means perfect. Minifigs well painted can still look great. Anybody got any unpainted Royalist pikemen they want to get rid of to a good home?

Would Warrior Miniatures ECW match?

I believe there are some pics in the Gallery.
